Telecommunication is the art of communicating at a distance, from the earliest as smoke signal, horse back riding(Pony Express) and telegraph. Today a little more than century later, most of the world is covered by a vast, complex telephone network. Any two people with access to a phone can speak to each other within seconds, regardless of where they are located physically.
The most popular medium used today in telecommunication is wifi. A wireless network uses radio waves to transmit data from one area to another area. This process can also works in reverse, with the router receiving information from the internet, translating it into a radio signal and sending it to the device wireless adapter.
With this system most devices made today is equip with this as a major form of communication.
Smartphones, computers, tablets, televisions, gaming console etc as long as they all have wireless adapters can use routers to connect to the internet.
After reading this article i have a more interest in telecommunications, how far will scientist go once more again. The use of radio waves use to communicate and record data has just begun. Soon it will be able to use in many other aspects not just telecommunications but beyond.
